When you think of a healthy person, the first thing that comes to mind is to be healthy, but the reality is that a person's complete health depends on his physical, mental, spiritual and social condition. Ayurveda and astrology have a long-standing relationship. Dasharatha was the king of Ayodhya during the Treta Yuga. He did not lack anything, but despite having three queens, he was not getting child happiness, due to which the king used to be very worried. When he discussed the matter with the sages, sages and sages, all of them advised him to perform Putreshti Yagna for procreation.
What is it and what is its significance?
Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Director and Gynaecologist of Asha Ayurveda says in this regard that Putreshti Yagna is such a ritual by which childless couples get children. It is also mentioned in the Ramayana. Gradually, in the race of modernity, people forgot their rich Vedic traditions. But these sacrifices were so effective that if done in the right way, the seeker gets the desired result. These yagnas have a deep connection with Ayurveda. If we talk about the Vedic literature then in that for the prevention of diseases yajna was performed which is also called yajnopathi or yajna therapy. For full details, you can study the Vedic literature. It is also a base text for further research. In this, the method of destroying various diseases, what kind of precautions should be taken in them, the causes of diseases, etc. have been written in detail.
What is the importance of yoga in Ayurveda?
Often people associate yagna with spirituality, but it is equally important for a person's physical health. There is a method of each yajna in which different types of havan materials are used. At the same time, the mantras recited in it are also different. All this affects the person who performs the ritual. The Havishya that is offered in the fire during the yagna balances the three doshas that are found inside a person i.e. Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The smoke that comes out during the havan in the yagna also has medicinal properties that help to cleanse the environment and destroy diseases. By yajna therapy one gets peace and satisfaction not only mentally but also physically and spiritually.
Shringi Rishi is credited with performing the Putreshti Yagna for King Dasharatha. According to the legend, Lord Rama was born to Kausalya, Lakshmana and Shatrughna were born to Sumitra and Bharat was born to Kaikeyi. Where this yagna was organized, even today every year from the day of Chaitra Purnima, 84 Kosi Parikrama of Ayodhya takes place.
