According to a UNICEF report, the problem of PCOD and PCOS is increasing very rapidly in India. It is not that this figure is increasing in any one part of India, but about 22% women in the whole country are suffering from PCOD. These are the figures that we know about, but there are many women who do not have any information about it.

Whereas this problem can happen to women of any age and due to lack of attention on time, it also becomes the cause of infertility. Many such campaigns are run by the Government of India so that people become aware and understand the symptoms, causes and treatment of diseases like PCOD. Often, problems like facial hair and weight gain are seen in women affected by it.
 
What is PCOD?
 
PCOD is a health problem related to hormonal imbalance which affects the ovaries of women. Normally, eggs are released from both the ovaries of any woman alternately during periods every month, but women who have the problem of PCOD have a lot of trouble during periods. Immature eggs are often released from the ovaries of such women, due to which they may also have problems like cysts. In women suffering from this, the amount of male hormones increases more than normal. Due to which their periods become irregular and they also face problems in becoming a mother in the future.
 
PCOD cases are increasing in India
 
Although PCOD has emerged as a global problem, but its figures are increasing very rapidly in India, which is especially affecting women of reproductive age group. About 20% of women in India are suffering from it. If we look carefully, according to the report of the World Health Organization, this disease is more prevalent in women between 20 years and 35 years.
