New Delhi (India), May 1: Opportunities do not come with their values stamped upon them. Everyone must be challenged. A day dawns, quite like other days; in it, a single hour comes, quite like other hours; but in that day and in that hour, the chance of a lifetime faces us. Opportunities and success are not something you go after necessarily but something you attract by becoming an attractive person. For some, it may appear like a collection of words; however, for these 2 friends from Goa, these words became a significant milestone in their lives. Passion, patience and persistence are the key ingredients to being an entrepreneur, and these 2 gentlemen embodied even more than these three traits.
It was the year 2019 when a charming gentleman from Goa was chosen to serve as the state’s representative at India’s biggest championship for men – Rubaru Mr. India. His name is Abrar Naik, a soldier and a member of the Goa Armed Police. He travelled to Mumbai for the 2019 Rubaru Mr. India competition and ended up winning the People’s Choice award at the said event. His journey and accomplishments motivated many youngsters to chase their dreams of entering this fascinating world of pageantry. During his journey, he received great support from his friends and family. However, the journey to the competition was not easy and not many individuals from Goa had any proper access to such platforms where their talents could be displayed. This made Abrar come up with the idea to give Goa its very own state-level platform where the people of the state could show their talents and also get direct entry to national-level events. The same year (2019), along with his friend Anokh Bhat, he created AB Production Goa organization, the firm that went on to become Goa’s biggest and foremost pageant-organizing company.
Established in 2019, AB Production Goa is the parent organization of Mr. Goa, Miss Goa, Mr. and Miss Junior Goa and Mrs. Goa competitions. These events are state-level preliminaries to the national-level competitions – Rubaru Mr. India, Rubaru Miss India Elite and Rubaru Mrs. India.
The company created by Abrar Naik and Anokh Bhat gradually became the most credible platform in Goa for individuals who wish to enter the beauty pageant industry.
Abrar Naik is the co-founder and director of AB Production Goa. He is a soldier and a member of the Goa Armed Police. He is a part-time model, a former Mr. Goa runner up and Rubaru Mr. India 2019 finalist. He competed at the 2019 Rubaru Mr. India competition and won the People’s Choice award. In 2019, he came up with the idea of expanding and dilating the Mr. Goa and Miss Goa competitions that contributed to the formation of AB Production Goa, the current parent company of Mr. Goa, Miss Goa and Mrs. Goa competitions.
Anokh Bhat is the co-founder and the leader of the creative team of the organization. He is responsible for creating and developing content for the event and production activities that include the set up of the state-wide auditions, pre-finale activities, training sessions and the final event.
Under the AB Production Goa management, the state of Goa became one of the best-performing states in Indian pageantry. In the last 3 years, the state produced 3 national-level winners – Sangarsh Verenkar (Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21), Shubham Kotharkar (Rubaru Mr. India 2022) and Narusha D’Souza (Rubaru Miss India Elite 2021) and 3 special award winners – Malik Rehan (Best Fashion Model), Rendel Ferros (Mr. Perfect Body) and Jedroy Dacunha (Best National Costume – runner-up).
